Our goal each day is to leave the right-of-ways (ROWs) and job sites in better condition than when we arrived. Before stepping foot on a site, our team works diligently to assess potential impacts to wildlife, vegetation, and nearby communities. Whenever possible, SMEX takes extra time to perform tasks manually or with smaller equipment to reduce our environmental footprint.

Additionally, our crews frequently work near vital waterways that play a key role in managing rainfall and filtering surface water before it reaches the watershed. In these sensitive areas, we rely on our expertise and training to apply natural stabilization techniques. We use native plants and eco-friendly materials to stabilize soils and protect surrounding ecosystems. Whenever possible, we implement the latest stream restoration methods to ensure that, once our work is done, the environment can continue to thrive.
